Schmit, South Carolina Start Divisional Championship Strong with Home Win
|
The South Carolina Bombers powered past the visiting Vancouver Pioneers, 3-2, in the opener of the Divisional Championship at Bomber Ballpark today. South Carolina starting pitcher Ange Schmit threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Bombers now lead the series 1-0.
South Carolina left fielder Kiyonobu Yamasaki helped the Bombers go up, 3-1, in the bottom of the third inning. With the game tied, Yamasaki hit a 2-run home run off Vancouver pitcher Kenko Samurakami.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" South Carolina manager Randy Huggett said.
The next game is scheduled for Wednesday, October 20th, 2032 at Bomber Ballpark. Slated to start are Kenko Samurakami for Vancouver and Ange Schmit for South Carolina.
