Bush Wackers Win to Tie Series with River Chiefs
|
The Brisbane Bush Wackers and the Chippewa River Chiefs will take the Single A World Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Bush Wackers beat the River Chiefs 3-1 at The Reservation to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Brisbane right-hander Bobby Savoy was named player of the game in the win after he threw 5 innings allowing 1 run.
In the top of the first, Ian Cutter ambushed a 1-0 cutter from Lorenzo Chavez and hit a solo home run. It gave Brisbane a quick 1-0 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Brisbane skipper Pete Barrett.
Game 7 is set to be played on Tuesday, October 26th, 2032 at The Reservation. Slated to start are Dario Reyes for the Bush Wackers and Jeff Stephens for the River Chiefs.
