Bush Wackers Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Single A World Series
|
Despite a great performance by Tree City starter Esteban Ruíz, the Brisbane Bush Wackers defeated the Black Squirrels by the score of 6-4 at The Nut House today. Ruíz threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball to earn player of the game honors, but could not prevent the Bush Wackers from moving one game closer to the Single A World Series. Brisbane now leads the Single A League Championship 4-2.
The Bush Wackers beat the Black Squirrels with some clutch hitting. The double by Barry Huffman in the top of the seventh is a good example. With two down, Huffman gave his team the lead, 5-3, when he came through with the big hit.
"Things aren't going great right now," Tree City manager James Lee said. "But you don't need me to tell you that."
