Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host Bush Wackers, 5-0
|
When he got to Brisbane, Félix Ruíz was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Single A League Championship.
The 21-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting Tree City Black Squirrels 5-0 in a remarkable performance at Baylor Ballpark today. With the win, the Bush Wackers took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Single A League Championship.
With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the bottom of the eighth inning, first baseman Insung Yaung delivered big for the Bush Wackers. Brisbane was leading 2-0 when he belted a 3-run home run.
"The competition leap this year was tough to adjust to and I feel like there has been another jump in the playoffs," said Ruíz, a rookie this season. "You're only playing the best now and everyone has time to rest and prepare for you."
The next game is scheduled for Saturday, October 16th, 2032 at The Nut House. The scheduled starters for the game are José Gómez for Brisbane and Esteban Ruíz for Tree City.
