Tree City Breaks Through for First Win in Single A League Championship; Now Trails 2-1
|
Already down in the Single A League Championship, the Tree City Black Squirrels put on their best show, beating the Brisbane Bush Wackers by a final score of 2-1 today. Bob Galloway earned player of the game honors, as he threw 7 innings allowing 1 run. Tree City now trails Brisbane 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Tree City designated hitter Roberto Coronado helped the Black Squirrels go up, 2-0, in the top of the third inning. With the game tied, Coronado hit a 2-run home run off Brisbane pitcher Lúcio Barrón.
"It's a big deal," Galloway said of the win. "If we had gone to 0-3, we're pretty much out of it."
Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday, October 13th, 2032 at Baylor Ballpark. Slated to start are Jeff Spracklin for the Black Squirrels and Bobby Savoy for the Bush Wackers.
