Almost There: Carson City On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 2-1 Win
The Carson City Mustang moved to within one game of the Double A World Series today, downing the visiting Rock River Rats at Cowboys Stadium by a score of 2-1. Mustang left-hander Maurice Bignold was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 5 innings allowing 1 run. The win gives the Mustang a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Double A League Championship.

Phil Parker drove in one run for Carson City. In the bottom of the seventh, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, Parker delivered for the Mustang. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Carson City on top, 2-1.

"We put together a nice win," Bignold said.

The next game is set to be played on Thursday, October 14th, 2032 at Cowboys Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Douglas Pantall for Rock River and Iemitsu Shiroi for Carson City.
