Olberos, Freeze Sink Coal Miners Again in Game 2
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of designated hitter Miguel Olberos, the Minneapolis Freeze got a road win against the Antioch Coal Miners, 8-2, in Game 2 of the Triple A League Championship today. Olberos went 3-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for the Freeze, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
An important at-bat for Minneapolis came with one out in the top of the third. With a runner on 1st, Olberos hit a 2-run home run, which contributed to the Freeze win.
"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Olberos said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."
The next game is set to be played on Tuesday, October 12th, 2032 at The Ice Box. The scheduled starters for the game are Willi Kehr for the Coal Miners and Bruce Brown for the Freeze.
