Fort Worth Breaks Through for First Win in Triple A League Championship; Now Trails 2-1
|
The Fort Worth Cats have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Fairfield Flash, winning 8-4 at LaGrave Field today. Cats first baseman Hirokichi Fujimoto was named player of the game after he was 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. The win cuts the deficit facing the Cats to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Triple A League Championship.
Also making an impact was center fielder Pablo Moreno, who drilled a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth inning for the Cats. For the game, Moreno went 2 for 4 with a double.
"It's a huge change in atmosphere versus last game," Moreno said after the win. "I feel like we're back in the mix now. We just can't let up."
The next game is set to be played on Wednesday, October 13th, 2032 at LaGrave Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Frank Hillier for Fairfield and James Akehurst for Fort Worth.
