Solís, Islanders Too Much for Jacks
The Hawaii Islanders defeated the Jacksonville Jacks, 8-1, at Aloha Stadium. Hawaii left fielder Jesús Solís was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Ehrich Weiss picked up the win, improving his season record to 8-6. He struck out 5 in 6 innings. With the win, the Islanders improved to 54-35.

Solís in the bottom of the fifth had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Islanders leading 4-0, he hit a grand slam.

"I hope we get a nice reward for this win," said Solís. "Like maybe a lighter workout schedule."
