Divisional Round Goes the Distance, Hawaii Prevails
|
The Hawaii Islanders and Brooklyn Black Knights held nothing back in an entertaining Divisional Round that went the distance.
In the end, it will be Hawaii advancing to the Divisional Championship, after a 2-1 triumph in the final game at Aloha Stadium, to wrap up the series 4-3.
The Islanders players celebrated jubilantly in their clubhouse after the game, while the scene was one of dismay on the opposing side for the Black Knights.
Katsuhiko Shimizu was named series MVP for Hawaii. For the series, Shimizu hit .417 with a .481 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Hawaii Islanders will play against the Havana Stogies in the next round. Havana had a bye in the Divisional Round. The Divisional Championship schedule will be announced after the Divisional Round finishes.
