Black Knights, Islanders Play 10 to Settle Game 1, Brooklyn Now Leads Series 1-0
|
One game in and the Divisional Round is already looking exhausting.
The Brooklyn Black Knights and the Hawaii Islanders needed 10 innings to settle Game 1, with the Black Knights finally taking the 3-1 victory at Aloha Stadium. Earning player of the game honors in the win was Brooklyn starting pitcher Elijah Green, who threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. The Black Knights and Islanders will play a best-of-7 series.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With one out, Ichiyo Yano hit a 0-1 cutter from Winston Boer for a 2-run home run. It put Brooklyn in front, 3-1.
"It was terrific getting this win," Green said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
Game 2 is set to be played on Sunday, October 10th, 2032 at Aloha Stadium. Slated to start are Elijah Green for the Black Knights and Rodrigo Garza for the Islanders.
