Home Loss Shrinks Pioneers' Series Lead to 3-1
|
On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Vancouver Pioneers team, the Maple Marauders had a tough assignment. Anthony Cadenhead delivered.
The Marauders left fielder was unstoppable for the visitors, as he went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 7-5. Cadenhead, 29, was named player of the game for his efforts. The win means Maple now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.
Gerard Leeder in the top of the second had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Marauders leading 2-0, the Maple second baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Leeder told the Maple Daily.
The next game is set to be played on Thursday, October 14th, 2032 at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards. The scheduled starters for the game are Ze-dong Zhang for Maple and Tony Velázquez for Vancouver.
