Little League World Series Gets Ugly as Indians Lose Third Straight, 13-2
|
The Francis Lewis Patriots are one game away from a sweep of the Jefferson Indians today after a 13-2 road win at Ballpark of Monterrey HS. Patriots second baseman Yasutomo Fujii was named player of the game, as he went 3-4 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Francis Lewis now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Little League World Series.
Fujii had a clutch at-bat in the top of the second for the Patriots. Coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd and Francis Lewis trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run double.
"Things broke our way today and that's great," Patriots manager Justin Easton said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."
The next game is scheduled for Saturday, June 5th, 2032 at Ballpark of Monterrey HS. The scheduled starters for the game are Katsutoshi Kawano for the Patriots and Kyle Simon for the Indians.
