Andy Gabbard pitched a gem to lead the Francis Lewis Patriots to a 3-0 victory over the Topeka West Chargers in Game 2 of the League Championship Series today. The right-handed Gabbard threw 7 innings of shutout ball in the win, which gave the Patriots a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Gabbard was in the zone all game. He frustrated Topeka West hitters while giving the Patriots 7 innings of quality work. Gabbard threw 101 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 8 punchouts.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Gabbard told the Francis Lewis Today. "You win just by scoring more runs."

The next game is set to be played on Wednesday, May 26th, 2032 at Breakers Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are Ray Cummings for Francis Lewis and Danny Wade for Topeka West.
