Blitzed by Theriot, Patriots, Indians Sink Further in R2
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of third baseman Jimmy Theriot, the Francis Lewis Patriots stopped the visiting Jefferson Indians, 6-5, in Game 2 of the Little League World Series today. Theriot went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Patriots, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
Theriot turned the game around in the bottom of the eighth. That's when the Francis Lewis third baseman dialed up a 2-run home run. Just like that, Francis Lewis's 5-4 deficit turned into a 6-5 lead.
"It's a gut punch," Indians manager Dan Miller said, "to get here and find ourselves down 0-2 in the blink of an eye."
The next game is scheduled for Friday, June 4th, 2032 at Ballpark of Monterrey HS. The scheduled starters for the game are Sam Berg for Francis Lewis and Kyle Simon for Jefferson.
