Patrick, Bulldogs Wallop Sycamores in Game 5 of R1
|
Fresno State second baseman Giovanni Patrick was the key at Pit Vipers Ballpark today, being named player of the game as he powered the Bulldogs to victory in a critical Game 5 of the NCAA College World Series. The Bulldogs took the 13-7 win over the Indiana State Sycamores to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Kevin Jefferson's at-bat in the top of the third was significant for the Bulldogs. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Fresno State leading 2-0, the designated hitter drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Fresno State manager Xavier Chávez.
Game 6 is scheduled for Friday, May 28th, 2032 at Brooks College Grounds. Slated to start are Christian Barnes for the Sycamores and Matt Loomis for the Bulldogs.
