Bulldogs Win Again, Extend Series Lead to 2-0
|
The Fresno State Bulldogs got a strong performance from pitcher Danny Jensen, who stymied the visiting Indiana State Sycamores en route to a 9-3 win in Game 2 of the NCAA College World Series today. The Sycamores could never get a bead on the right-handed Jensen, who threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball to earn player of the game honors. The Bulldogs now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.
Flexing his muscles for Fresno State was Bobby Wilson. The right fielder had a 3-run home run in the bottom of the third for the Bulldogs. It put his team ahead, 3-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Wilson went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"Ever since we qualified for the playoffs, the guys have been razzing me about how I'm going to embarrass myself out there," the rookie Wilson said with a smile. "I'm glad to prove them wrong, at least for a day."
The next game is set to be played on Monday, May 24th, 2032 at Pit Vipers Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are Matt Loomis for Fresno State and Dave Michlin for Indiana State.
