Streaking Marauders Win Another One
|
The Marauders faced a stiff challenge from Vancouver pitcher Tony Velázquez, but persevered to claim a win at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards. The final score was 5-4. Velázquez went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Maple reliever Ze-dong Zhang was credited with the win, to go to 6-3. Bob Archer took the loss for Vancouver. Justin Rogers earned his 2nd save in 2 chances.
This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the ninth, Dante Deleón drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Marauders took the lead, 4-3.
"I like our mindset right now," said Maple manager Jesús Alfaro.
The Marauders, now 55-32, have won 7 in a row.
