Mustangs Beat Hornets, 5-2
|
Mile High Mustangs starter Sylvester Richardson was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Eureka Hornets, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Richardson, now 5-3. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Kenkichi Kodo closed the game out for Mile High, earning his 6th save.
Shunso Sato's at-bat in the top of the seventh was significant for the Mustangs. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Mile High leading 2-0, the third baseman hit a bases-clearing triple.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Sato said after the game.
With the win, the Mustangs improved to 44-40.
