Cardinals Suffer 6-0 Setback
|
San Marin starter David Guerrero put a stranglehold on the Kearny High offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Mustangs to a 6-0 win. Guerrero, now 2-0, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. The Mustangs now own a record of 27-39.
Danny Claude was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for San Marin. In the top of the fifth, with the teams deadlocked, 0-0, Claude delivered for the Mustangs. His run-scoring double put San Marin on top, 1-0.
"David did a tremendous job," said San Marin manager Marcus Piscitelli.
