Loss Extends Tioga Central Losing Streak
|
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Scott Lewman, the George Washington Patriots defeated the Tioga Central Tigers, 5-3. Lewman went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Patriots. George Washington reliever Alain Bob picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Ricky Hartman was saddled with the loss. This loss makes it 7 in a row for Tioga Central.
Frank Cassell brought the hometown crowd to its feet with no one out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when the 16-year old right fielder belted a solo home run. With the round-tripper, the Patriots took the lead, 2-1.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Gabriel McKinnes. "But it's got to translate into wins."
