Allison Lifts Panthers to 7-2 Win
|
The exploits of third baseman Bruce Allison, who leads the HAL in total bases with 215, helped the Pleasantville Panthers defeat the Central Tech Blues, 7-2. Allison belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Kevin Miller got the win, improving to 7-3. He worked 7.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. The wins continue to add up for Pleasantville, with the latest making it 7 in a row.
When the Panthers needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Allison who delivered. Facing Central Tech pitcher Ryan Schwanz the bottom of the eighth with runners on 1st and 3rd, Allison hit his 26th home run of the year. It made the score 7-2.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Panthers manager Bobby Lowenstein, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
