Zasko, Warhawks Beat Poly, 9-6
|
The Seminole Warhawks topped the Riverside Poly by the score of 9-6, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Christian Zasko. Zasko went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Warhawks. Jeremy Wagner earned the win to go to 4-7. He allowed 6 earned runs on 8 hits, with 4 walks and 7 strikeouts. Jesus Castro earned the save for Seminole, his 1st of the year.
The Warhawks got a big at-bat from second baseman Chris Ignatov. For the game, Ignatov was 1-5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 13th double of the season gave Seminole a 4-2 lead.
"Good win for us," said Zasko. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
With the win, Seminole goes to 30-29, while the Poly fall to 37-22.
