The bats were silent much of the day at Ottawa HS Grounds. But Bryan Larson conjured up just enough offense to carry the Patriots past the Topeka West Chargers, 3-2. Larson went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Armando Qudrio in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Trey Puglisi took the loss. Stephon Jackson converted his 10th save in 12 tries.
Larson was 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once against the Chargers. With the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that scored 1 and put Francis Lewis in front, 3-2.
"We're in the driver's seat," said Larson. "I like our chances."
Francis Lewis goes to 36-22. The win puts them 4 games up in their division.
