Gabriel Bolten was the difference-maker for the Canby Lancers in what turned into a shootout with the Tioga Central Tigers. Bolten earned the player of the game award after going 2-for-3 in the 16-11 Lancers win. Canby reliever Dave MacDougall picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Rich McKinney shouldered the loss. The Lancers raised their record to 29-25.

John Phillips took Rich McKinney deep with two out in the bottom of the fifth. On a full count fastball, Phillips drilled a 3-run home run to left. It was his 17th home run of the season and put Canby on top, 12-9.

Tioga Central manager Gabriel McKinnes expressed his frustration after the game: "That many runs and it still wasn't enough?"
