Lancers Come Back Late to Top Tigers
The Canby Lancers did just enough to sneak past the Tioga Central Tigers, 7-6, at Ballpark of Villahermosa HS. Canby right fielder Gabriel Bolten earned player of the game honors. Canby reliever Matt Westerfield picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Michael Nichols was saddled with the loss. Andy Fitzpatrick nailed down his 13th save.

Bill Lapham, the Canby left fielder, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 4-1, Lancers. For the game, Lapham went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Canby manager Cody Coffman.

With the win, Canby goes to 28-25, while the Tigers fall to 25-28.
