The Downsview Mustangs beat the Billings West Golden Bears, 6-4, at Guadalajara HS Grounds. Downsview third baseman Elijah Foster earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Zach Pohlmann got the win, improving to 2-5. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Wade Knuth sewed up the save, his 6th.
In the top of the fourth, Downsview center fielder Peyton Miller had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Miller stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 4-3, Downsview. For the game, he went 1-4.
"I know we have our doubters," said Billings West manager Brian Neyman. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
The 'W' lifts Downsview's record to 22-31.
