Grant Stars in Islanders Win
|
The Grand Island Islanders blasted the Carl Albert Titans, 14-4. Jason Grant was one of the hitting stars. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for Grand Island. Mike Reader was credited with the save for Grand Island, his 1st of the season. With the win, the Islanders improved to 24-28.
Grand Island designated hitter Matt Ivey helped the Islanders to the win. In the top of the first inning, the 17-year old second baseman stroked a 2-run single. For the game, Ivey was 1 for 4 with a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Grand Island manager Doug Taylor.
