Downsview right fielder Karl Holman had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Holman was 3-4 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, even as Billings West beat the Mustangs, 10-8. Holman was named the player of the game despite the loss. Alan Williams, who went 7.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 8 runs on 8 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 7-2. Mike Lund finished the game for Billings West and earned his 11th save.
Moses Andrews, who is tied for 2nd in the PRL with a 1.289 OPS, helped out the Billings West cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder was 1-4 with a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"Guys always talk about winning games because of the 'little things,'" Andrews told the Billings West Observer. "Call me old fashioned, but I think baseball is about the big things -- like scoring more runs."
Billings West is in second place in the Pete Rose League Alex Rodriguez Division with a record of 27-25.
