Dallas beat Portland at Metroplex Park, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to right fielder Tsunayoshi Ito, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Adrien Clément sewed up the save, his 26th. Dallas goes to 42-42, Portland to 36-50.

Ito contributed when he hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. Coming with one out and a runner on 1st, the home run proved to be critical to helping Dallas get the win.

Ito told a Dallas Herald reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.
