Titans Come Up Short at Riverside
|
The Riverside Poly went home winners at Apollos Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Willard Gibson. Gibson silenced the Carl Albert Titans, enabling Riverside to grab the 1-0 win. Gibson got the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 10 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. Gibson allowed no earned runs. Earning his 6th save for Riverside was Chris Phillips.
A decisive at-bat came in the bottom of the first inning. With the bases loaded, the batter, Tristan Erdahl, hit into a double play. It made the score 1-0, Riverside, and helped them go on to win.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Erdahl.
The Poly own a robust 33-18 mark.
