Tigers Snatch Late Win
|
The Tigers had to overcome a fine effort from Santa Clara pitcher Ryan Ballard to grab a narrow 3-2 win at River Otters Ballpark. Ballard went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Tenafly reliever George Hall was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Bobby Salas. Tenafly bumps their record to 24-25 with the win.
Both teams had trouble scoring runs. So, Andy Arceo's at-bat in the top of the tenth was huge. With no one out, the Tenafly designated hitter hit a run-scoring double, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
