Golden Bears Lose, 8-3, at Osprey Ballpark
|
The rain at Osprey Ballpark did not keep George Washington and Billings West from finishing their game.
The George Washington Patriots beat the Billings West Golden Bears, 8-3, at Osprey Ballpark. George Washington right fielder Frank Cassell earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The Patriots are now 23-25, while the Golden Bears fall to 25-23.
Also making an impact was left fielder Brad Patton, who drilled a bases-clearing triple in the bottom of the second inning for the Patriots. For the game, Patton was 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Cassell told the George Washington Observer.
