Fordyce Lifts Cardinals to 9-2 Triumph
|
The Kearny High Cardinals and Lerna Lions completed their game despite the rain.
Nick Fordyce left his imprint on the 9-2 Kearny High win against the Lerna Lions. Fordyce, who is tied for 4th in the HAL in stolen bases with 10, was 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 times. Kearny High is now 20-26, Lerna 22-24.
Kearny High first baseman Jason Kennedy helped the Cardinals to the win. In the top of the third inning, the 18-year old first baseman stroked a 2-run double. For the game, Kennedy went 3-5 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Fordyce told a Kearny High Gazette reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
