Poly Win at George Washington, 5-1
|
The Riverside Poly grabbed a 5-1 win over the George Washington Patriots at Osprey Ballpark. Riverside second baseman Matt Block went 2-2 with 2 singles to earn player of the game honors. Mike Aldridge was credited with the save for Riverside, his 7th of the season. The Poly own a robust 29-16 mark.
Tony Davis was a key contributor to the win for the Poly. In the top of the seventh with one out, the light-hitting catcher stroked a double to left. He was 1-3 with a double and a walk.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Riverside manager Gary Corwin. "It's usually not just one thing."
