Beavers Lose to Texans, 6-4
|
The Dallas Texans beat the Portland Beavers, 6-4, at Waterfront Park. The Texans got a fine performance from catcher Sean Clare, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Richard Lawson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Michael Smith was tagged with the loss. The win leaves Dallas with a record of 6-3.
Clare contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the second. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Dallas get the win.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Clare said.
