Chunichi Hurler Wins CL Silver Slugger Award Wednesday, May 31st, 2028 If he wasn't already a household name in NIPPON BASEBALL LEAGUE, Izumo Ikarashi of the Chunichi Dragons certainly is now. He has a bright future ahead of him after today being named the winner of the 2028 Central League Silver Slugger Award, at the age of only 19. "I feel like I'm getting better all the time, so I'm looking forward to the years to come," said the ace, who this year put up a 7-0 record. Overall, Ikarashi made 13 starts and pitched 72.1 innings, racking up 104 strikeouts with 18 walks and a 1.00 ERA. Shunsen Memoto of the Chunichi Dragons finished second in voting, while Wei-qiang Ju of the Hanshin Tigers finished third. |
