Yano Socks it to Marines, Cracks 5 Hits Wednesday, April 28th, 2027 The Buffaloes whipped the Marines 13-11 at Sea Hawks Stadium and Ichiyo Yano had a big hand in the win. The Buffaloes shortstop came to the plate 5 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Yano and a tough day for Chiba Lotte. "I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan." Plan or not, Yano delivered today -- 5-for-5 is outstanding in any league. Ichiyo Yano hit a solo-shot off Koshiro Ohayashi in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th, singled in the 8th and doubled in the 10th. So far this season Yano has 9 home runs and a .368 batting average. |
