Masamichi Uchida to Miss 4-5 Months Monday, April 26th, 2027 The Hiroshima Toyo Carp learned that Masamichi Uchida is likely to be out for 4-5 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Yokohama Bay Stars. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be shoulder inflammation. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Hiroshima Toyo manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Masamichi is back in action." Uchida has made 9 starts so far this year and put up a 2-3 won-lost record with a 4.89 ERA. In 42.1 innings he has allowed 47 hits, walked 23 and struck out 45. |
