Hayashi Gone; Outlaws Looking for New Skipper Tuesday, May 30th, 2028 It came as no surprise to anyone in the press corps: Motoyuki Hayashi was fired today as manager of the Calgary Outlaws. His feuds with Outlaws players were one of the worst-kept secrets in baseball. Even through the closed doors of the manager's office, reporters often overheard shouting matches between Hayashi and players. Rumors that a recent argument between Hayashi and an unnamed pitcher degenerated into fisticuffs could not be substantiated, but there was no denying the acrimonious atmosphere that had developed in the clubhouse. Team insiders had been saying for weeks that it was only a matter of time before Hayashi would be let go. According to these insiders, the team has a replacement in mind, but will hold off making an official announcement for at least a day. |
