Great Day for Peyre -- 5 Hits
Tuesday, March 21st, 2028
Steve Peyre was at the head of a Calgary Outlaws hit parade today at Corvettes Ballpark. The 19-year-old went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Montreal Royales that marched off with the 10-7 win.
"We didn't have it today," griped Outlaws skipper Motoyuki Hayashi following the game. "Steve did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and and we didn't do it pitching."
Peyre did more than fine, dominating the Royales at the plate during his record-making 5-for-6 performance.
"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging right fielder told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
Steve Peyre singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th, hit an RBI single in the 9th, walked in the 11th and grounded out in the 13th.
This year Peyre is hitting at a .344 pace with no home runs and 8 RBIs. He has played in 17 games and scored 9 times.
