Ruckus Reaps 10-Game Suspensions
Tuesday, April 20th, 2027
The fans at Drummondville College Grounds saw it all yesterday in the Stars-Outlaws game -- pushes, shoves, scuffles, a few tackles, a few swings, a few feeble punches -- and a baseball game, too. When the ruckus was over, only two players were sent to the showers by the umpire crew. Niagara's Chris Gauthier and Calgary's Frank Simms were ejected from the game.
Today the two players were suspended 10 games by the league commissioner.
Looking at his stats this year, Gauthier has compiled a .234 batting average, while hitting 5 home runs and driving in 22 runs. He has played in 37 games and scored 20 runs.
Simms has gone to the hill for 19 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 1-1 record with a 8.37 ERA. The Calgary reliever has limited opposing batters to a .330 batting average.
