Rod Dedeaux League Names #1 Player Tuesday, June 6th, 2028 Willis Pierce of the UCLA Bruins had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Silver Slugger Award for 2028. The 19-year-old first baseman put up a .376 average and a .472 on-base percentage, piling up 70 hits, 10 doubles, 2 triples, 26 home runs, 66 RBIs and 56 runs scored. Dennis Montgomery of the Mississippi State Bulldogs finished second in voting, while Ed Jackson of the Cal State Fullerton Titans finished third. |
