SBL Silver Slugger Award Goes To Mitchell
Tuesday, June 6th, 2028
He may have less experience than most of his USA NCAA DIVISION I peers, but that didn't slow Jeff Mitchell down at all in 2028.
At the age of 19, the Michigan first baseman has been named the winner of the Skip Bertman League Silver Slugger Award.
He had a .470 batting average and a .562 on-base percentage this year. In 46 games he piled up 85 hits, 9 doubles, 1 triple, 22 home runs, 65 RBIs and 57 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
Vincent Roger of the Michigan Wolverines finished second in voting, while Jeff Butler of the Tennessee Volunteers finished third.
