Mississippi State Stops Owen's Hit Streak Sunday, May 14th, 2028 The Mississippi State Bulldogs pitching did its job today, holding hot-hitting Kent Owen hitless in 3 at-bats during a 7-4 victory over the Rice Owls at Toughkenamon College Fields. This disappointing performance ended his 33-game hitting streak. "I'm a little down right now," Owen said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." This year Owen is hitting .399 with 4 home runs. |
