Gould Spins No-Hitter
Tuesday, May 9th, 2028
In a dominant outing, Steve Gould of the South Illinois Salukis totally silenced the bats of the Iowa State Cyclones, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the Salukis' 3-0 victory, Gould faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 9 strikeouts and 3 walks.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning" South Illinois manager Sadao Nagahama said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager James Taylor told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.
"The Salukis had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Gould pitched a heck of a ballgame."
To date this year Gould has compiled a 3-2 mark with a 3.08 ERA in 9 starts.
