Owen Keeps Hit Streak Alive Thursday, May 4th, 2028 The Rice Owls stopped the Ole Miss Rebels today 9-2 and Kent Owen was able to hit safely again. The Rice catcher got 3 hits and ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 25. Owen was excited after the victory and told the press, "I want to get a hit every time up. I want to get a hit every game I play. I want to win every game for the greatest fans in the world, Owls fans!" Kent Owen walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Dan Beck in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off David Sweeney in the 8th. In 2028 Owen has hit at a .412 clip with 49 hits, 4 home runs, 21 RBIs and has scored 15 times. |
