Iowa State's Ayliffe Sidelined for Season Monday, May 1st, 2028 The season is ending on a bad note for Virgil Ayliffe, catcher for the Iowa State Cyclones. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Ayliffe was hurt against the Indiana State Sycamores while running the bases. He suffered a torn posterior cruciate ligament and will be out for at least 13 months. In his season totals Ayliffe has 16 home runs and a .320 batting average. |
