For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Leo Travis, it came around today. The 19-year-old first baseman scattered hits all over Bruisers Ballpark to pace the Miami Hurricanes to a 11-2 victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels. North Carolina skipper Dorian McNeal told reporters in the press room that "Travis deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Travis hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Leo Travis singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
