Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Monday, April 24th, 2028 One player challenged the other with some angry words at the Gators-Demon Deacans game at Ballpark of Bismarck College yesterday. There was some pushing and shoving -- then the dugouts emptied. There was a lot of scuffling, but no punches thrown. When order was finally restored and the dust settled, the umpires ejected Florida's Marc Bartlett and Wake Forest's Brandon Malet. Now both antagonists will get some time off, courtesy of the league commissioner. They were suspended 7 games for inappropriate and aggressive behavior. This year Bartlett is hitting .208 with 4 home runs and 13 RBIs in 24 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .283 with 7 walks and 9 runs scored. His record this year is 0-1 in 5 starts and Malet has a 7.23 ERA. |
